1-The House of Romanov  was the second and last imperial dynasty to rule overRussia, reigning from 1613 until the February Revolution abolished the crown in 1917.
2-The later history of the Imperial House is sometimes referred to informally as the House of Holstein-Gottorp-Romanov.
3-The Duke of Holstein-Gottorp, who was himself a member of a cadet branch of the Oldenburgs, married into the Romanov family early in the 18th century; all Romanov Tsars from the middle of that century to the revolution of 1917were descended from that marriage.

2-Since the seventeenth century, people who formerly would have been called Huguenots have instead simply been called French Protestants, a title suggested by their German co-religionists, the Calvinists.
3-French Protestants were inspired by the writings of John Calvin in the 1530s, and they were called Huguenots by the 1560s.
4-By the end of the 17th century, roughly 200,000 Huguenots had been driven from France during a series of religious persecutions

Knol is a Google project that aims to include user-written articles on a range of topics. The project was led by Udi Manber of Google,announced December 13, 2007, and was opened in beta to the public on July 23, 2008, with a few hundred articles mostly in the health and medical field. Knol has no policies regarding sources or neutrality. Some Knol pages are opinion papers of one or more authors, and others describe products for sale. Some articles are how-to articles or explain product use. Other people can post comments below an article, such as to refute opinions or reject product claims.

The Search Engine.BASE is one of the world's most voluminous search engines especially for academic open access web resources. BASE is operated by Bielefeld University Library.As the open access movement grows and prospers, more and more repository servers come into being which use the "Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting" (OAI-PMH) for providing their contents. BASE collects, normalises, and indexes these data. Our OAI-PHM-Blog communicates information related to harvesting and aggregating activities performed for BASE.BASE is a registered OAI service provider and contributed to the European project "Digital Repository Infrastructure Vision for European Research" (DRIVER) which was successfully completed at the end of 2009.


Mendeley is a desktop and web program for managing and sharing research papers, discovering research data and collaborating online. It combines Mendeley Desktop, a PDF and reference management application (available for Windows, Mac and Linux) with Mendeley Web, an online social network for researchers. Mendeley requires the user to store all data on its servers. Upon registration, Mendeley provides the user with 1000 MB of free space, which is upgradeable at a cost.


The Khan Academy is an educational organization, created in 2006 by MIT graduate Bangladeshi American educator Salman Khan. With the stated mission of "providing a high quality education to anyone, anywhere", the website supplies a free online collection of more than 2,600 micro lectures via video tutorials stored on YouTube teaching mathematics, history, finance, physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, economics and computer science.


Wolfram Alpha is an answer engine developed by Wolfram Research. It is an online service that answers factual queries directly by computing the answer from structured data, rather than providing a list of documents or web pages that might contain the answer as a search engine would. It was announced in March 2009 by Stephen Wolfram, and was released to the public on May 15, 2009. It was voted the greatest computer innovation of 2009 byPopular Science.
