Prof. AK RamaKrishnan

On 13th January 2016, Prof. AK RamaKrishnan (Centre for West Asian Studies- 
School of International Studies, JNU Newdelhi) visited Unity College to present his  plenary talk at International Conference on power organized by the PG department of English. He spent around one hour with our history students.

Medical Camp

A free Medical Camp was organized @Nedumkayam by Msp janamytri malappuram in association with mitra jyothi kerala and various nss units on 31st December , 2015. 17 nss volunteers and a programme officer of our college were attended the camp. More than 150 tribal people of nedumkayam were benefited from the camp.

Energy Management Day

In connection with the "Oorja samrakshana dinam " a seminar on Energy Management was organized at KAHM unity women's college jointly with Oorja samrakshana Samiti, Govt. of Kerala and NSS units on December 14, 2015 to give an awareness among the students. The Seminar was Inaugurated by Mis Subaida, manjeri municipal chair person. Dr C.saidalavi, Principal, presided over the function. Welcome address was given by Mr. HAmeedali, district convenor. Mr swabir was the resource person.There were nearly 100 participants. Brochures were distributed among the participants high lighting the different methods of Energy management.A poster presentation was also organized at the auditorium.


visit to Thavanur Old Age Home

"A visit to Thavanur Old Age Home"
On saturday 12 th december 2015, NSS Volunteers of KAHM Unity women's college visited Thavanur Old Age home. This home (under govt of kerala) is one of the prominent and important center for the people who are not getting care from their home,children,family or spouse. 60 inmates are presently residing in the old age home.
On reaching there all of us assembled in the front area after which we went in groups to their rooms and sat down to listen to what they had to say. Some of them even had tears in their eyes when they were talking about their past stories. some of them were weak and sick made us extremely emotional. This trip reminded our volunteers of the reality of what true life is. We are always cribbling about what life is not offering us although we have everything. we should have due respect for the old people and lend our ears for a minute and just wait for them to express their thoughts. we also visited nearby MAHILA MANDIR and donated few clothes and other useful items. After lunch, a short visit to the ponnani harbour and beach made our trip more meaningful @unitynss15

First Constitution Day

NSS Units of KAHM Unity Women's college manjeri organized a function to observe 1st Constitution Day at Seminar hall on 26 November 2015. State vice president of National confederation of human right organization Advo. SADIK Naduthodi was the chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Advo.Sadik talked in detail on the formation of Constitution, constitutional and fundamental rights, social, economic and political justice and liberty.  Principal Dr.C saidalavi also spoke on the occasion. Nss volunteers and few faculty members of the college were also present.Earlier,C. jaseena , Nss programme officer presented the welcome address and in the end, Faseela C presented vote of thanks.


Aids Day Observations

NSS Units of KAHM Unit Women's College organised AIDS Day observance on 1st December, 2015. The observance started with an AIDS awareness class by Dr.Hassainar at the Seminar Hall. At 12:30 pm an Aids Awareness Procession was flagged off by Shabeermon. Prof.Meera Devi delivered the AIDS day message. Noushad Sir, Jaseena mis and Dr. Abdulla PP led the procession. Few NSS volunteers donated their blood as a part of observance.

Visit to Shalom Matha rehabilitation centre

Located @Cherani near MANJERI, Shalom Matha rehabilitation centre is a non- profit organization with no funds or other outside resources. It function because of some very generous friends and neighbors who donate their time and money to keep it afloat and help them take care of more than 70 destitute women. International Old Age day Celebrations'15

Unity NSS volunteers participated in the International Old Age day Celebrations'15..
More than 95 Old Age citizens were honored on Thursday (Oct 1) during a function organized by Manjeri municipality to mark International Day of Older Persons. Nss volunteers of unity womens college have took part in the various programmes in connection with the event.The function was inaugurated by the Home minister Ramesh chennithala.

GANDHI JAYANTI CELEBRATION

GANDHI JAYANTI CELEBRATION IN UNITY ON 02/10/2015.
NSS Unit of Unity College Manjeri has celebrated Gandhi Jayanti in a befitting manner. In connection with the day we have organized a campus cleaning programme.NSS Programme Officer Mis Jaseena C gave the guidance to the volunteers. They were divided in to 7 groups with a team leader. Each team was allotted specific area for cleaning. The volunteers took part in the progamme with great enthusiasm. They proved that they are dedicated to do anything for the society. Earlier in the morning Principal C. Saidalavi shared a few words on the relationship between NSS and Gandhiji which was followed by a documentary presentation on Gandhi and some speeches from the part of volunteers on the contemporary significance of Gandhian ideology. The programme ended by 4.00 P.M.


c2c Programme

"c2c Programme inaugurated".
NSS Units of KAHM Unity Women's College Manjeri has started a community outreach programme (c2c) by spending a whole day in Anakkayam Punjayath on 29 th Aug 2015. The Campus to Community Programme (c2c) was inaugurated by the ward member U.Nani Sahib.The focus of the event was on spreading the importance of organic farming, initiating activities that will help to determine the water quality and also making the public aware about the vegitables having the highest pesticide content. As a part of the event, Dr.Usman, Assistant Professor of Botany has delivered an inspiring talk on organic farming.


Quiz competition

On the occasion of
INDEPENDENCE day, an inter departmental 'Quiz competition' based on Contemporary India was conducted by NSS Units of Unity College on 12 th August 2015. The Event was anchored by Mr. Shabeermon.M. Trophies were presented to the winners..

Independence day (2015) celebrations

The Independence day (2015) celebration was conducted by the NSS & NCC of KAHM Unity Women's college on 15 th August 2015. The National flag of India was hoisted by the Principal Dr.C Saidalavi by 9.am in the college campus and gave independence day message which was followed by NSS & NCC songs. After sharing sweets & Paayasam, NSS  Volunteers  moved to the seminar hall where the celebrations continued. After NSS prayer song , O.Abdul Ali addressed the gathering, he elaborated on
patriotism towards the country and also asked d students to contribute for d growth the society.The principal C.Saidalavi shared few words on patriotism, followed by a brief cultural session. After the vote of thanks by Miss. FASEELA of 3rd Sem, student programme ended with the National Anthem..

Paying tribute to Late Dr. A PJ Abdul Kalam, NSS Units of Unity college organized a talk in d seminar hall. Advo. Mohammed shareef has delivered key note address. The programme was attended by staff and students, who also shared their thoughts on APJ..

Anti Narcotic Day Celebrations

The NSS Volunteers of KAHM Unity Women's College participated in a Rally organized by vigilance dept of Malappuram to create awareness among the public against the use of Narcotic products , on the occasion of Anti Narcotic Day Celebrations. Holding placards announcing the demerits of Narcotic products, NSS Volunteers covered the premises of the Manjeri town shouting slogans against the use of Narcotics.

Kerala, on 19 th of June 2015.

Unity NSS observed World Environment Day

Awareness Class, planting of tree saplings and administration of pledge to protect the environment marked the observance of World Environment Day here in KAHM Unity College on Friday, June 5th 2015. Saplings were planted inside the campus. Advo. Ummer M.L.A inaugurated the exercise by planting a sapling in the presence of M.S.F leaders, College manager, principal and NSS volunteers. In his speech Advo. Ummer emphasized the need to protect the environment from pollution and importance of sapling planting. As many as 200 tree saplings planted at Unity College. Volunteers also took a pledge to protect the environment.
