*VISIT TO KARALA BLIND SCHOOL, VALLIKKAPATA*

Department of Commerce (COOP) in collaboration with Share & Care Charity Project, K.A.H.M Unity Women's College Manjeri organised a visit to Kerala Blind School Vallikkapata on November 3, 2022, to meet the visually challenged children. After arriving at school, students gathered in the auditorium, where Head Master Abdul Kareem introduced the various activities of the school using videos. The students then spend time with children who are participating in various learning activities. School teachers were extremely supportive, as some of them demonstrated writing with brain script and various computer-based learning methods. It was wonderful to see the dedication of teachers when we witnessed individual attention being given to each and every child in the school. The school's science lab, park, and garden also serve as places for the children to learn new things. We handed over an amount of Rs 8K after the lunch (Sadhya) arranged by the authorities that can cover the cost of a day's food at school. This was an eye-opening visit that helped our students understand the problems of visually impaired children. They could comprehend how these children are educated at school. Video of the visit can be accessed from the link
