Population movement between different countries has been an enduring feature of human civilization. Throughout history, people have been moving in large numbers for various reasons. It is not only a natural phenomenon but also created by people through the process of their political, social and economic activities. In this process some people move voluntarily and others forcefully. The labour migration from Malabar region to the Gulf countries and its socio-economic and cultural impact on Malabar is very significant as both the regions witnessing mutual migration and immigration since 1970s.  In this regard, the Department of History, KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri Organaising a one day Infotainment on “Impact of Gulf Migration on Malabar” in the college auditorium on 30th December 2012 to enrich our knowledge and information about the major part of India- West Asia relation through paper presentations, cultural programs and documentary and movie screening .The students and staff of the Department cordially invite you to attend the seminar and make it a success.
