Mind Matters
On September 5, 2023, the Department of History, KAHM Unity Women's College, Manjeri organized a mental health awareness program titled "Mind Matters: Nurturing Mental Health Awareness." The program featured Muheena Tasneem, Psychologist and College Counselor, as the resource person. In her speech, Muheena shared various ways in which students can recover from different types of mental illnesses. She also emphasized the importance of maintaining mental health and its impact on leading a balanced life. Nafla T.P, III BA History student, welcomed the gathering, and Najia delivered the vote of thanks. The program was specifically organized for the first and third year undergraduate students of the History department.

The article delves into the examination of Manṇapeti and Pulapeti, two significant practices in medieval Kerala that aimed at regulating and controlling women. Through their study, the authors shed light on the social and cultural aspects of these practices, providing valuable insights into the disciplining of women in the historical context of Kerala.
