On November 8, 2024, students and staff from the Department of History, KAHM Unity Women's College participated in the 43rd Annual Session of the South Indian History Congress held at Malabar Christian College, Calicut. Sixty five second year BA History students and two faculty members attended the event, engaging in academic sessions, interacting with historians, and gaining insights into contemporary historical research. In the afternoon, the group visited Manorama Horthus, a literary and art festival organized by the Malayala Manorama group at Calicut beach. There, they immersed themselves in diverse cultural expressions and explored various stalls. The visit, coordinated by Assistant Professor Jaseena C and student coordinator Fathima Munjiya, offered students a unique opportunity to combine academic exploration with cultural experiences.
