Orientation on CUFYUGP

The CUFYUGP Academic Committee, KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, organized an orientation session for the faculty on the Calicut University Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) on March 27, 2024. The session commenced at 9:30 AM with an introduction by the principal, Dr. Muhammed Basheer Ummathur, followed by a detailed presentation on the FYUGP by the FYUGP Academic Coordinator, Shabeermon M., Assistant Professor, Department of History. The discussion held after the presentation focused on the implementation of FYUGP and its impact on the college curriculum. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Jyoti P., Head, PG and Research Department of Chemistry.

Sent off to III BA History

 The Department of History and the History Association, K.A.H.M Unity Women's College, Manjeri bid farewell to the final year BA History students on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. The event was graced by the presence of both the students and the teachers of the HistoryDepartment, who lauded the students for their academic performance and expressed best wishes for their future prospects. A sumptuous lunch was also catered for the attendees. Later in the day, the college Union conducted a common sent off function for all the outgoing students of the Academicyear 2023-24. A group photo was also snapped in the morning to mark the occasion.

Training Programme

 Shabeermon M., Assistant Professor, Department of History, KAHM Unity Women’s College Manjeri, attended an online training program for the Nodal Officers of affiliated colleges under Calicut University on February 26, 2024 (Monday) at 10:30 AM. Dr. Harikrishnan G., member of the Academic Committee on CUFYUGP and Resource Person, spoke about 'Creating awareness about the Calicut University Four-Year Undergraduate Program (CUFYUGP)', which will be implemented from the academic year 2024–25. He discussed the roles of the Academic Coordinator and Academic Committee, conducting Orientation Sessions for Staff and Students, Switching to Minor Courses, Creation of a New Time Table Committee, etc.

First Year BA History PTA Meeting 2024

 First Year BA History PTA Meeting 

The Department of History,  K.A.H.M Unity Women's College,  Manjeri organized the PTA meeting for the  First year  BA History students on 9th February 2024, at 2:00 PM in Room No. C303. Meeting commenced with the  welcome speech of  Jaseena C, Tutor  of second  semester  BA History. College Principal Dr. Muhammad Basheer Ummathur inaugurated the meeting. He  emphasized the  commitment of the college to promote not only academic excellence, but also the holistic development of the  students. Mr. Shabeermon M ,HOD in his speech  highlighted the  active role of parents to perform in the academic journey of their child.  Faizal  TK, Assistant Professor of the department,  spoke about the importance of regular attendance , University Exam and punctuality in the success of students.  Later, Mrs. Jaseena C,the  class tutor, explained the need  for  improving communication between parents and students for a better and a more serious learning experiences.  Progress  cards  were distributed to review the performance of the students by the parents. Eventually, Parents were given opportunity to provide feedback on the teaching methods and general learning environment. Clarifications were also given  to the questions raised by parents with regard to grading system and curriculum. The meeting concluded with an increased level of parental participation and awareness. A total of 50 parents participated in the meeting.
