Session on FYUGP CV Camp
The Academic Committee, FYUGP organised a session on the 'conduct of FYUGP 1st Semester University Examinations and CV Camp' on November 25, 2024, at 3:45 PM in the AC Seminar Hall. Mr. Faizal TK, Chief Superintendent of University Examinations, provided a comprehensive overview of the roles and responsibilities of various stakeholders, including Chief Superintendent, invigilators, camp director, CV camp chairmen, chief examiners, and additional examiners. The programme also included a Q&A session to address faculty queries. The event was presided over by the Principal Prof. (Dr.) Muhammad Basheer Ummathur, coordinated by FYUGP College Level Coordinator Mr. Shabeermon M, and concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr. Hamraz Ahammed, Head, Dept. of Physical Education.
Participation in the 43rd Annual Session of South Indian History Congress
On November 8, 2024, students and staff from the Department of History, KAHM Unity Women's College participated in the 43rd Annual Session of the South Indian History Congress held at Malabar Christian College, Calicut. Sixty five second year BA History students and two faculty members attended the event, engaging in academic sessions, interacting with historians, and gaining insights into contemporary historical research. In the afternoon, the group visited Manorama Horthus, a literary and art festival organized by the Malayala Manorama group at Calicut beach. There, they immersed themselves in diverse cultural expressions and explored various stalls. The visit, coordinated by Assistant Professor Jaseena C and student coordinator Fathima Munjiya, offered students a unique opportunity to combine academic exploration with cultural experiences.

Experiential Learning Visit to Wayanad
*Experiential Learning Visit to Wayanad*
Department of History, K.A.H.M. Unity Women's College, Manjeri, organized an experiential learning visit to Wayanad on October 27, 2024, involving 55 first-semester BA History students and two staff. The trip included visits to notable sites such as Lakkidi View Point, Karappuzha Dam, Edakkal Cave, and Banasura Dam, chosen for their historical and cultural significance. The visit to Edakkal Cave, a prominent megalithic site (6000 BC - 1700 BC) discussed in the first semester Kerala History course of FYUGP , provided students with a unique opportunity to explore ancient petroglyphs, ritualistic practices, and architectural innovations. This experience offered a profound glimpse into prehistoric life and cultural heritage. The day concluded with a mental health awareness session led by Dr. Jamshad from Apollo Hospital. This session, conducted in collaboration with the Sanjeevani Project—an initiative by the Government of Kerala—aimed to promote mental and physical wellbeing of students through vegetable cultivation.
State Level Seminar
"State Level History Seminar Organized"
On 4th October 2024, the Department of History, Korambayil Ahammed Haji Memorial Unity Women's College, Manjeri, organized a one day history seminar on the topic "Conflicts in West Asia: Bridging History and Contemporary Crises". The seminar was inaugurated by the college manager, Engineer O. Abdul Ali. Dr. Lirar Pulikkalakath, Assistant Professor, School of International Relations and Politics, Mahatma Gandhi University, delivered the keynote address, focusing on the historical and cultural factors behind the conflicts, role of colonialism, duvision among muslims, the formation of Israel, oil economy, and other issues creating crises in West Asia.
The seminar was presided over by Principal Professor (Dr.) Muhammad Basheer Ummathoor. College Dean Jaseena C. and College Union General Secretary Fathima Tasni K. extended their felicitations. In the following sessions, Dr. Shahina Mol A K spoke on "Resistance and Resilience: The Lives of Palestinians under Occupation," and Faisal T.K. discussed "Israel and Iran: Nuclear Conflict and Regional Disputes."
The seminar began with a welcome address by Shabeermon M., Head, Department of History, and concluded with a vote of thanks by student coordinator Shifna P.
